I'm sure you've all seen this site before. My story is the fourth one down on this page

The look on my avatar's face doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about this. |

Of course not. EDM is best friends with Emily (Etsy support) and Emily won't return any of my emails. I'm a single mom, and I don't have the money for a big fat lawsuit right now. Right now I have to focus on promoting my own website, so that we don't starve this year.
This really sucks. I remember you from Etsy (I'm lessthanthreedesigns, btw). Your work is so nice! I'm really disappointed in Etsy for the way this was handled. :(
Those posts actually made me hesitant to post my stuff on Etsy; I think I might just sell it on my own. =/
except for the fact that there were other sellers on etsy with the exact same designs YOU sold as "original" who were there far longer... when called out on it, you resorted to saying that you'd been selling them on ebay for far longer. if anyone wishes to look up more info on this, it's been dealt with in the etsy steampunk comm., the steamfashion comm. here, many, many threads on the etsy forums, AND on the etsybitch site.
I never said that I invented steampunk, or that I invented everything I made. I came up with some certain styles that were definitely my own. Also, I see you're not addressing the fact that my words and descriptions were copied verbatim (and then changed ever so slightly when she was called on it) AND that she called me out publicly and repeatedly in her shop announcement (against Etsy TOS) AND the fact that I have had my life and my daughter's well being threatened repeatedly.
I guess all of that is OK with you. Good to know.
PS: Just because somebody says something on Steamfashion, doesn't automatically make it true. There actually is a bigger world out there.
PSS: Don't even try to start with me about the Etsy Bitches. I happen to be very good friends with all of them. (and yes, I DO know who they are)
First, and foremost, I feel the need to address your strange, and out of hand, assertion that I deem it okay for someone to threaten ones life, or the life of their child. Stop with the rhetoric, and re-read.
Second, NOTHING posted on the internet is 100% truth, whether its on steamfashion, forums, or etsybitch. I urge readers of this to seek out the FULL STORY, and to see what you've posted many, many places. I urge them to see what happens when there is anyone being devils advocated when responding to your charges. You know who the etsy bitches are? Gee whiz, that's great for you, and has nothing to do with the point.
You never said that you invented steampunk, or that you even invented everything you sold. However, and this the big issue here, you are alleging THEFT OF DESIGN. If you didn't "invent" the designs yourself, then how can you, realistically and honestly, accuse someone of thievery?
I have read and re-read your variations on this same theme for months and months now, and stand behind my issues. There are two sides to every story, and yours will never sit right.
Wow.
That's just a train wreck.
Ick.
You'd think they could be bothered to at least switch finding suppliers after the first complaint.
LOL, no doubt.
You have no idea how many hours I spend searching for unusual findings, just so that other people can't copy me. If I find out that some of the findings are vintage and in limited supply, I make sure to buy ALL of them! It's become an obsession.
Heh.
The same amount of time I used to spend trying to find beads I like, I'd imagine. I did have a huge list of potential suppliers, but I think some of the bead shops have closed up. Absolute horror when you suddenly realize that you're one bead short..
Most of my current links are for bookbinding, though. | |
